WHAT IS THE MINIMUM PASSING SCORE FOR THE LET EXAM?

To successfully pass the LET, candidates must achieve an average rating of at least 75%, with no individual test score falling below 50%.

It's essential to note that passing the teacher licensure exam and obtaining a valid professional license from the Commission are prerequisites for practicing the teaching profession in the Philippines. Failure to comply with these requirements may result in fines and imprisonment as per penal provisions.

In the September 2023 LET, the examination content was divided into two components for Elementary candidates, consisting of General Education (40%) and Professional Education (60%). For Secondary candidates, the examination comprised three parts, with General Education (20%), Professional Education (40%), and Specialization (40%).

The examination encompassed key subjects within General Education, including English, Filipino, Mathematics, Science, and Social Sciences. In addition, the Professional Education section covered various aspects of the teaching profession, such as the social dimensions of education, principles of teaching, education technology, curriculum development, facilitating learning, child and adolescent development, assessment of student learning, developmental reading, field study, and practice teaching.

For Secondary Teacher candidates, the examination's coverage depended on their chosen specialization, which could be one of eight options: English, Filipino, Science, Mathematics, Social Studies, Values Education, MAPEH (Music, Arts, Physical Education, and Health), and TLTVE (Technology Livelihood, Tech-Voc Education).

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) and the Board for Professional Teachers (BPT) announces that 20,890 elementary teachers out of 44,764 examinees (46.67%) and 50,539 secondary teachers out of 85,980 examinees (58.78%) successfully passed the Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (L. E. P. T.) given last March 17, 2024 in 36 testing centers all over the Philippines.
