The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) has recently unveiled the list of room assignments for the November 2023 Midwives Licensure Exam, several weeks ahead of the scheduled examination dates. Set to take place on November 5 and 6, 2023, the exams will be conducted across various regions in the Philippines, encompassing key locations such as NCR, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Koronadal, Legaspi, Lucena, Pagadian, Pampanga, Rosales, Tacloban, Tuguegarao, and Zamboanga.
On the day of the examination, candidates are required to bring specific items, including their official receipt of payment for the examination application, the notice of admission, a metered-stamped window mailing envelope, multiple No. 2 pencils, black ink ballpoint pens, a long brown envelope, and a long transparent or plastic envelope for valuables and other permitted items. Additionally, they must adhere to the health protocols outlined in Joint Administrative Order No. 01 (s 2021), which may involve presenting negative RT-PCR test results, if applicable, or providing a certificate or copy of the vaccination card for fully vaccinated examinees to the proctor on the examination day.
However, certain items are strictly prohibited on the day of the exam, including books, notes, or any printed materials containing coded data, programmable calculators, such as CASIO FX991ES and CASIO FX-991ES plus, cellular phones, earplugs, transmitters, portable computers, smartwatches, Bluetooth devices, or any other electronic gadgets that could be used for communication purposes. Moreover, examinees are not allowed to carry any type of bag or backpack, and any other examination aids not explicitly stated are also prohibited.
Furthermore, the PRC has enforced a specific dress code for both male and female examinees. Male candidates are required to wear a tucked-in white polo shirt with a collar, along with appropriate pants or slacks, while female candidates should wear a tucked-in white blouse or shirt with a collar, combined with decent pants or slacks.
Amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the PRC has implemented strict health and safety measures during the examination. These measures include observing a physical distance of at least two meters between examinees, remaining in their assigned seats, wearing face masks (preferably N95) and face shields at all times, and carrying 70% ethyl alcohol for hand disinfection. Examinees are also expected to avoid close physical contact, touching their face, and spitting in public areas, while adhering to proper hygiene etiquette when sneezing or coughing.
