The October 2023 Geodetic Engineer Licensure Exam (GELE) room assignments are made available by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) a few days prior to the examination. The GELE will take place on October 25 & 26, 2023.
Candidates are required to arrive before 6:30 in the morning on the designated date, as latecomers will not be allowed entry.
Necessary Items for the Exam Day
The following items must be brought for the examination:
Notice of Admission
Official Receipt
One (1) piece of metered-stamped window mailing envelope
Two (2) or more pencils (NO. 2)
Ball pens (black ink only)
One (1) piece long brown envelope
One (1) piece long transparent/plastic envelope (for storing permissible items and valuables)
Health Forms (In accordance with Memorandum No. 68, series of 2020)
Negative RT-PCR Test Results, if applicable, or Certificate of Quarantine (As per Memorandum No. 68, series of 2020)
Dress Code for Exam Day
The specified dress codes outlined by the PRC are as follows:
Male examinees must wear a tucked-in white polo shirt with a collar (without any emblem, logo, or mark) and appropriate trousers or slacks.
Female examinees must wear a tucked-in white blouse or shirt with a collar (without any emblem, logo, or mark) and suitable trousers or slacks.
Prohibited Items Inside the Exam Rooms:
Materials containing encoded information or formulas, such as books, notes, or review materials
Programmable calculators or those with embedded functions, notably CASIO FX991ES and CASIO FX-991ES plus
Smartwatches including those from Apple and Samsung, cellular phones, earplugs, transmitters, laptops, Bluetooth devices, or other electronics that could facilitate communication
Bags of any kind (all documents should be placed inside the transparent/plastic envelope)
Any other aids not specified in the program
All personal belongings of examinees must be surrendered to the proctor and kept in a secure area within the examination room. Strict adherence to the rules on bodily searches, inspection of personal belongings, and confiscation of prohibited items during the licensure exam (Annex A of PRC Memorandum Order No. 57, s. 2020) is mandatory.
Exam Coverage
The October 2023 Geodetic Engineer Licensure Exam (GELE) will encompass the following subjects:
Laws, Rules, and Regulations (Public land laws and natural resources, property laws, land reform laws, land registration laws, obligations and contracts, professional and ethical practices, and regulations governing land surveying)
Mathematics (comprising algebra, solid geometry, analytical geometry, engineering economics, plane and spherical trigonometry, differential and integral calculus, mechanics, and least squares)
Theory and Practice of Surveying (including property surveying, isolated and mineral surveys, cadastral land surveying, astronomy, route surveys, earthworks, hydrographic and topographic surveying, photogrammetry, engineering surveys, and construction surveying)
Geodesy (covering geodetic surveying, geodetic astronomy, geodetic triangulation, geodetic leveling, gravity measurement, and least squares)
Cartography (involving plotting and mapping of isolated, mineral, cadastral, hydrographic, photogrammetric surveys, and map projection).
