Ferdinand Marcos Jr., the President of the Philippines, welcomed the new year with a vlog alongside Vice President Sara Duterte. In the video, which was uploaded on Marcos' YouTube channel on January 1, Duterte played the role of a fortune teller, joking that Marcos would have a granddaughter this year. When asked about their New Year's resolutions, both Marcos and Duterte said that they wanted to get more sleep, with Duterte saying she hoped to sleep for at least 8 hours per night.
“Matulog ng mas mahabang oras—paabutin ng 8 hours ‘yung
tulog, ‘wag lang 5 hours,” Duterte said.
“Halos ganoon din kagaya nung kay Inday (Sara). Talaga kailangan na matuto ako na magpahinga dahil nagkakasakit na hindi na dapat mangyari yun,” Marcos said.
Marcos also mentioned that he hoped to spend more time with his family, as he has been missing them and has had little time to see them. In addition to his personal goals, Marcos also expressed his hope that the country will be united in the coming year for the benefit of all its citizens.
